me too. unfortunately you can't spot reduce fat you need to overall drop fat. lift weights, walk, do squats, lunges, kick backs, ham string curls, bicycling, eat right, drink lots of water, etc.

30 mins of cardio 5 days a week and reduce your calorie intake. I think the step machine is good for hips and bums. But any cardio machine will burn body fat.
Make sure and train at between 70 and 80% of your maximum heart rate. Maybe not in first week but work towards training in your max heart rate beats per min range. The pounds should fall off after a few weeks.
Calculate your max heart rate (MHR) by using this formula.
MHR = 220 - age. Then calculate 70 or 80 % of the number you get using the formula. Then you will be training at 70 or 80% of your MHR which will massively improve your fitness and figure.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your training.
P.S you dont even need to join a gym if you are busy. Buy a good home exercise bike. They dont take up much space. Cycling is an excellent form of fitness and is very friendly on the joints and knees.
I am currently rehabilitating from ACL surgery. That is the same injury Michael Owen suffered in Germany. Ive been cycling in my MHR 75% zone for 3o mins. It has greatly improved my fitness and physique.
P.P.S if you cycle wear cycling shorts or you'll get sores on the insides of your leg from the friction from the seat. I found that out the hard way. Also they reckon people burn more fat when they cardio train first thing in the morning. Apparently your body's energy stores are very low so the body has to burn more fat to function during cardio. It makes alot of sense.

If you are not carrying any extra fat, then your hips are just the size they are going to be. In the past, the desired different in size between waist and hip measurements was 10 inches, but for some people it's naturally more than that due to how they are built.
If you decide to have children some day, you may be glad for those big (wide) hips.

I sympathise as I have the same body shape. There's not a lot you can do to change the body shape you have been given, but is that so bad? Sounds as if you are a curvy lady, and that's very sexy.
You don't say what weight you are - if you are a bit over weight, you could try losing some - but your waist will always be smaller in proportion. I know what it's like trying to find trousers that fit properly - if they fit on my hips, they are enormous on my waist!! I always need to wear a belt, so designs without belts dont work for me. But thegood news is - it is sexy and feminine to have a small waist!
Go for it - really accentuate your slender waist and enjoy your curves!!

Ultimately, the size of your hips is determined by your bones.
But you may have layers of fat on your hip - which you can get rid by doing Cariovascular exercise, and reducing your calories.

I have the same problem. I hate my hourglass figure, and I have a large stomach too. I wish I could be skinnier, so I started exercising and eating healthier too, and hopefully it will help. Cardio workouts are good for your hips.
