Save a portion of your income and put regularly in some trusted growth schemes. Have a detailed accounting of income and expenditure and analyse the same to find whether you can reduce any expenditure. Saving small amount over a period with the compounding of interest will make a fortune.

These are the ways.
1. You have exception business talent (eg. Gates, Murdoch)
2. You are great at sport (eg: Beckham)
3. Inheritence (eg. Most Royals)
4. Lottery
5. You invent something valuable (eg. Cure for Diabetes)
6. Investments - Real Estate or Shares
As you can see from the list above, for most people, option 6 is really the only way.
So, start learning about Property or/and Shares.
Many people before you have made fortunes from these two avenues.
Read how they did it and model strategy on them.
There are numerous sites. books etc on how to do this.

By starting a habit of disciplined saving- save 20% of everything you make before you spend anything. It's amazing how returns compound. You then need to invest in a diversified portfolio of stocks (mutual funds), bonds, and hold a bit of cash.
