It may be about average, but it's still too young. We have laws about that sort of thing, you know, and they're designed to protect teenagers from unwanted pregnancies and predators. You shouldn't worry too much about this, even if your friends, peers, etc. are giving you flak about not having lost yours yet (if that's true). If you've given it up to someone, be thankful you're not pregnant (if *that* is also true), and enjoy the rest of your childhood. You should never allow others to pressure you into doing anything - it's called "peer PRESSURE" for a good reason.

Remember: People don't mind offering BAD advice - whether or not you take it, the results don't hurt *them.*

Very average! No longer a child but a young man/woman at this point in life.

The term average means nothing. Don't do it because you think everyone else is. Map out your own trail, not someone elses. Having said that - wait til you are older. You can avoid costly mistakes. You will be glad you did.

In the U.S. 16 is average; in the U.K. it is 15. I would not be surprised if 17 (or even older) is average in more patriarchal or conservative societies.

Is average pretty safe?? I guess that's some people's goal.

Average rate of virginity
Average rate of breakups
Average rate of divorces
Average rate of mistakes
Average rate of diseases
Average rate of income
Average rate of kids

Since when is 'average' a goal to shoot for? You may even be supposing that others are normal / typical and know what they're doing... ouch !!

Our goals should be exceptional and tailored to us, - grow up.
