Maybe it's like the number line. Imagine C is 0.
So AA - -3 A - -2 B - -1 C - 0 D - 1 DD - 2.

Women's clothing sizes are all designed to seem complementary because practically every women is unhappy about her size and appearance in general. If you put DD the double D woman will feel superior to the regular D. If you put AA the completely flat-chested child will think she's better than the A. Anyway there's no such thing as an AA cup. If your breasts are A or smaller all you really need to wear is a camisole or an undershirt to disguise your nips.

bra cup sizes are weird and do change from country to country in the UK it goes AA, A, B....DD, E, F, etc and in the us some bras are call DDD instead of E

I think the A cup came first and they there was a demand for a smaller cup size and with no letters before A they made AA cup size.

AA appears to be the cup size designation for a trainer bra

I think when they started the letter designations they made A,B,C,D etc. and when somebody got the bright idea for a training bra ( meaning "you really don't need one yet") they didn't think it was a good idea to give it a negative sounding name like A- so they just gave it a double letter. As for the DD etc. Once you get into those sizes you don't really want to see the next letter coming so they make it seem less huge by saying DD instead of E.

because there is no letter before A so when they found someone who was too small for an A cup they had to make it AA cos there was no letters left! there also is a size AAA that exists aswell but i think they were just taking the P***

there was orignally onl A-D...then they saw that wasn't gonna work so they come up with AA(AA comes before A in the alphabet) and then dd is after d cuz d was orignally the last one get?

it kind of goes negative. C=0 figuratively. the aa-b is negative and d is positive. another way is A=small so AA equals small/small and D=big so DD equals big/big.

That's the way man (no pun intended) designed the bra sizes. The scale goes from small to large starting like this:
AAA (small)
AA
A
B
C
D
DD
DDD (large)
and so on.
