this is for my Physics10 class, our professor challenged us to answer it. You have two balls, a smaller one within the larger one. You set it in freefall by dropping it from an elevated surface. What happens inside? Does the smaller ball fall at the same time? WHile in freefall, is it at the top or bottom of the larger ball?

The small ball will accelerate faster than the external large ball until it touches the bottom of the large ball. Small and large object always accelerate at the same speed when falling unless there is an interfering counter force. In this case, the large ball is fighting air drag. The small ball is not.

accoring to galileo "all bodies fall at the same rate under the free fall when no force acts on them(i dont know the exact words)" so when the gravitational force acts on a body it gets accelerated according to its mass.so when straitly dropped the larger ball will be reaching the ground first but when they are slided the smaller ball will have a greater centripetal force and it rotates within the larger ball with a greater angular velocity
