Helo i have a laptop system and it it not opening the start menu and it can only load dektop items. It will not detect any network stuff or cd rom or dvd drives. I have valuable info which cannot be replaced. HELP me please terribly urgent

i understand ur problem still i need some more info to resolve ur question. Send me pvt msg on IM to solve. Wat i can suggest u for time being is to start the pc with Safe mode and remove the unnecessary stuffs ASAP and reboot as normal.

Not enough info. Is it a MAC. Is it Windows? I'll guess windows..hehe
First I would try and start in safe mode. If it runs ok, you probably have some driver problems or a virus. Scan it with antivirus. Run ChkDsk on it to look for errors on the drive.
If it doesn't run in safe mode I would remove the hard drive and hook it to another PC via a USB adapter. Run Chkdsk on it. Scan it for Viruses. And, back it up (copy) onto another USB drive or something. There are many ways to back up your precious info and make a clone of your drive.
Nortan Ghost & Acronis True Image are good tools. If the drive is already corrupt you may need to salvage what you can using getdataback and reformat on a new drive.
Could be bad RAM, CPU,Motherboard,Bios, Heat.
Best to take it in and have a pro look at it. Quickly.

well man what happen here? was it a virus maybe? well if you think it was buy a anti-virus and run it from the cd to check for viruses, if it was a hardware problem... maybe something broke or you drop it or maybe its just to old take it to a tech and have the hard drive back up so you wont lose anything ... then buy a new pc and transfer your stuff from the old hard drive ... i need more info from you to give you more help

hiya ---sounds like your loaded with trojans and spyware -and ad ware too name a few-----can you start in safe mode?????? or via a boot disc-----it may also be the fact that windows is just messed up----sometimes the windows files can become unuseable do too viruses-trojans and such----but windows WILL also just crap on ya---and yes it can----i've seen it numerous times-----nothing in the system---virus and trojans and such----but boot sector of HD -<<<<--hard drive<<<<---is ----A. not useable---dont sound like your issue----it sounds to me like you have missing or corupted windows files---possibly .DLL files----dynamic link library----in other words certain sets of instructions for windows are bad or missing

punch the button (f8 I think) and go to safe mode, and get your information. do this on start up

try increasing RAM of u'r laptop
