Some babies are just born to be spitter uppers..all of my kids were spitters..my husbands family didnt have any in theirs apparently and were always driving me nuts with the "is this normal" questions and the requests to take them to the pediatrician or change pediatricians etc..UGH..I dont want to relive those days...they do eventually grow out of it..as long as she is gaining weight and it doesnt appear to be causing her any discomfort (aside from being all gooey that is) It isnt cause for alarm...I would speak to your pediatrician the next time you go though. Im sure he is going to tell you the same thing...A lot of times babies begin to spit up less frequently once they start to sit up and spend more time upright than lying on their backs or at an incline....

My baby always spit up a lot. She is 9 months now and it's finally over, for the most part!! My doctor said that there are some babies out there that have reflux. It will go away but it may stay until the baby is about a year. What helped for me a little was giving her rice cereal. It is a bit thicker so it stays down better. It didn't completely get rid of the problem, but it helped a lot. Also, burp the baby lots. I don't know if he/she can sit up yet, but usually when they do sit up the throwing up slows down. Once you feed your baby, try to keep it propped up for 20min to half hour. It can be tough but it's worth it. Trust me, it was really hard for me because she was colicky and spit up a ton. But it will end one day. Also, I am just giving you some ideas, but it is always best to ask a doctor just in case it could be something else!! Good luck!

Hey there if you have started to feed the little one early with ceral that may be the cause of of it spitting up. some people think that giving a baby ceral when it isa few weeks old to help them sleep is a good idea. But it just makes the spit up in the future because their little stomaches can not pocess it any sooner than 3 or 4 months old.

yes, I think every mother who has several children, must experience a pukey one! ah the joys of motherhood! My second child was that way..since then, I learned to feed 1oz., burp, set baby upright on knee, hold head cradled under chin, gently rock baby forward and backward, burp, continue feeding at, 1 oz. intervals...breast feeding there is less air intake...if baby is fussy and spitting up, check with pediatrician, maybe not the correct formula...also don't overfeed!

I didn't have this problem with my two years old son, but I'm having it with my 3 months old daughter. I'm breastfeeding her, but she's very hard to burp. May be this is the problem. The doctor said it's normal for many babies. If the baby isn't fussy, don't worry. Just try to burp him as much as possible.

Sounds like reflux, see your pediatrician tomorrow or go to the ER. Give the baby some Pedialyte so the baby is not dehydrated.

my son is 4 months old and has spit up bad since he was born. we changed his formula 3x before we found that the nutramigen and rice cereal helps. i give him a tbl spoon of rice per ounce of formula. it thicken the milk up to sit on his tummy better. we also tried the zantac the only thing that did was keep him from crying when he spit. i hope that this helps

Perhaps your baby has reflux, or maybe it's the formula. Is there anythng else going on like crying just after feeding, hard belly...?

Sure. As long as it's just spitting up and not vomiting, I wouldn't worry at all.
