You can also check who really owns a website with "whois".
If you can call with your credit card it better than entering it on-line.
You have protection from your credit card also.
You can get preloaded credit card for on-line purchases, like "diamond card" or "green card" can be purchased fron drug store(preload with amount of purchase only).
