Of course it is. I have not been to Spain personally, but I am an American student studying and living in the Netherlands. Western Europe is very safe in general - like a previous answer said, as safe or safer than your average american city.

it's safer than any city in america ......of course you must show a lot of respect to the historical surroundings ...other than that ..it's ok
