Everyone is different with treatments for psoriasis. Most doctors take a look at how severe it is and if there are any other complications and prescribe accordingly. I have suffered from psoriasis for over 20 years. I have used every type of cortosteroid ointment approved for psoriasis with little or no improvement. I have tried ultraviolet treatments with no improvement. I have now been officially diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis of the hips, knees, sacroiliiac joints, and fingers. I have been referred to a rheumatologist for the treatment of both the psoriasis (which has spread majorly) and the psoriatic arthritis.
Sometimes, even when you do not want to take the path of pharmaceutical drugs, that is the only thing that might work. Now that psoriasis has been classified as an auto-immune disorder, I have a feeling more and more people with it will be referred to a rheumatologist for treatment.
As for treatments from mild to severe
Cortosteriod ointments
Ultraviolet Treatment (like tanning beds and/or sun exposure)
Methotrexate
Enbrel, Remicade (disease-modifying drugs)

I had a 13 year history of psoriasis, though I was in good health otherwise. But these severe large, thick and scaly excoriated plaques on my neck, ears, trunk and limbs ruined the way I was leading my life. I would be with red, inflamed itchy skin for most part of the year and these silvery scales would seem to be erupting without any reason. To make matters worse, blisters would appear over already red and itching skin. It was living hell.
I was treated with various options but nothing seemed to be working. Some of the treatments that I underwent in this depressing period of 13 years included tar preparation, tropical steroids and anthralin. I was also given light therapy many times but everything I tried would give me temporary relief.
And soon, after a few days I would be plagued with the situation again. In one of those moments when I was completely lost I stumbled upon this website just by chance. I read it and felt that as if someone had put the story my life on this web page. I was thoroughly convinced that if ANYONE can cure me of condition, it would be you.
And was I right, or what. I started recovering within 3 days of starting this treatment. Something that had become a painful part of me for 13 years was actually getting healed! My ears are healed and my neck is smooth again!. I am a month into the treatment and I have never felt better in my life!

Psoriasis is an auto immune disorder that effects the way the immune system functions. The immune system of a person who has psoriasis is constantly fighting infections that aren't there. This causes there skin to exfoliate much quicker than a person with a normal immune system. Dieting or vitamins will not help. Psoriasis is not an allergy, people are not allergic to anything and still can have it, its hereditary. There is a broad line of medications in topical form that help, every one medication varies on the individual. A person may find a med that helps them but may not help someone else, talk to a dermatoligist. Try head and shoulders dry scalp care for a couple weeks, I find it helps. Also don't stress out to much, try to keep calm, stress can cause flare ups. I hope everything works out and I wish you the best. Take care, everything will be okay.

Cure psoriasis starting today - even if your doctor or dermatologist says "it's impossible!"
I've just followed a guide called psoriasis free for life that completely cured me of this debilitating and embarrassing disease in less than a month!
Remember, this will not only treat the symptoms that you do see:
the red, inflamed itchy skin.
The silvery scales that seem to erupt for no reason.
The burning or bleeding that occurs around your joints.
The cracking, oozing and painful patches on your skin.
But it also treats the underlying cause of psoriasis - the part you don't see - the actual immune system deficiency that causes these itchy patches to appear and scale over.

You can definitely get back your life, your confidence and your self esteem!

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 14 and now I am 36 years old. You can say that I have tried just about every medicine both approved by FDA and trial without much success. Examples include Enbrel, Humira, oral meds, creams, oils, salts, coal tar, etc and the list is much more extensive that I can't even remember all of the names. But recently after someone shared this video https://tr.im/PsoriasisTreatment2015ClJC everything has changed. My psoriasis completely cleared by putting these changes in place. I only wish I'd taken photos of before and after because it truly has been miraculous. I am getting married in Oct, 2015 and I am wearing a strapless gown that also shows my back and I am confident (not like before) that my skin will be soft and pretty vs red and flakey.

It is the best ointment I have ever come across!!! It worked for my baby daughter too actualy..she had bad eczema and it ceased the spread and now she has none to speak of. :)
This is all natural, has no corticosteroids that you realy do not want to have in your body if you can help it.
So long as you are not allergic to cod liver oil and especialy iodine..as some people are, then you will be fine. You only need a little bit of the ointment on the affected areas.
