New theory? The idea of intelligent design has existed since the early 1900s. But the definitive book on this topic was not published until 1989, making it fairly new.

Some people believe that intelligent design is creationism repackaged.

I will not, as others who have replied to your question, try to tell you whether there is or is not a God. That is your decision and your belief. I will, however, tell you that even Galileo believed that science supported the existence of God. (Then again, you can never be sure if he said that to placate the Church.) Euclid once said, "The laws of nature are but the mathematical thoughts of God." And even the Pope endorses evolution as being compatible with faith.

The jouney towards truth is a journey of self-discovery. You must decide for yourself what you believe to be true. If you believe that there is a God and that God has a role in our evolution, then that is your opinion and you have a right to it. Remember, regardless of what anyone might say, no one has all the answers. There is a famous saying that goes something like this, "Believe the man that seeks the truth; doubt the man who says he has found it."

Intelligent design is an intuitively sane answer to the question of life. However, sometimes intuition is wrong. If you were not from this world and you came here and witnessed some of our achievements, you would assume that they were created by intelligent beings -- yes, this is true and makes sense.

As we look at the human body or the order of our world and universe through physics or chemisty, one would easily make assumptions that an intelligent being also created something so beautifully complex. But scientifically, this doesn't hold up, at least to the extent that the Intelligent Design people say.

Our science says that the development of this type of beautiful complexity took huge amounts of time whereas Intelligent Design says that it happend in a blink of an eye, relatively speaking.

Science is our best way of keeping our human errors in thinking in check and to moving in the direction of discovering truth. Intelligent Design doesn't hold up to science but makes intuitive sense.

If there wasn't such an agenda on the side of Intelligent Design to prove science wrong, I think there would not be an issue. There is no reason that spirituality and science should be in conflict with one another.

Personally, science is a spiritual experience. Maybe God did have a hand in our evolution, but maybe it didn't happen in seven days.

Intelligent design (ID) is the concept that "certain features of the universe and of living things are best explained by an intelligent cause, not an undirected process such as natural selection."[1] Its leading proponents, all of whom are affiliated with the Discovery Institute,[2] say that intelligent design is a scientific theory that stands on equal footing with, or is superior to, current scientific theories regarding the evolution and origin of life.[3]

An overwhelming majority[4] of the scientific community views intelligent design as pseudoscience[5] or junk science.[6]

Its complete trash. The Flying Spaghetti Monster is just as plaussible. This was a theory that went around in response to how unintelligent intelligent design is. The Flying Spaghetti Monster is a deity of a parody religion founded by Bobby Henderson in 2005 to protest the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to require the teaching of intelligent design creationism as an alternative to biological evolution. In an open letter on his website, Henderson professes belief in a supernatural Creator entity that resembles spaghetti and meatballs called the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and calls for Pastafarianism to be taught in science classrooms, essentially invoking a reductio ad absurdum argument against the teaching of Intelligent Design.[1][2]

The followers of The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) call themselves Pastafarians, a play on Rastafarians.

Hi, Farfignuegen, my name is Hank. Intelligent Design is a euphemism for Creationism. Some people want everybody to live like and worship Jesus the same as them. And, in their attempt to do that have tried to rename Creationism; yet, by doing so, have presented a false view on the origins of humanity.

Our country has this thing called the Constitution, and a part of that Constitution states that religion can't be supported by our government.

All Intelligent Design is is a clever lie designed to try and wow Christians, and non-Christians, into believing I.D. is a scientific answer, and not Creationism by dressing it up in fancy words. It isn't.

The people who came up with this are liars. They are giving Christianity a bad name. In their attempt to present a false explanation for Creation they have maligned all Christians, and have caused Christians to be misrepresented in their (I.D. proponents) misguided attempt to hoax the Public.

If Intelligent Design is proven not to be a religious explanation, it could be used and taught in our schools. I.D. proponents reason that if it's not religion it will pass the Constitution's ban about religion. That's why I.D. proponents were, and are, so fervent in their support of I.D.

They have tried to deceive us into believing I.D. is not Creationism by saying that there is a certain intelligence in the design of the Universe, and that our universe would not exist if it wasn't for the designer (God). All they have done, though, is to postulate an idea that isn't true.

Now, what would God or Jesus think about that.? People, saying they represent Christianity, presenting an idea on the predication of a lie.

If you reason correctly, Farfignuegen, you will discover Intelligent Design supporters are, in reality, denying God by stating our universe was designed by a designer and that God isn't the designer. Think about it, Farfignuegen.

Zealots in their ardor to prove their idea is not religious, in order, to get it to pass Constitutional muster have, in actuality, denied the existence of God. Oops!

In the recent trial about Intelligent Design in the Pennsylvania courts, the Judge of that trial explained in his decision how I.D proponents had lied by saying I.D. was not a religious explanation when, in fact, it was a religious explanation.

That Judge has been labled an "activist" by the people who attempted to pull this ruse off. Shame on them. Those I.D. proponents give Christianity a bad name. They are nothing but lying zealots trying to subvert our Constitution.

Farfignuegen, Intelligent Design is not a theory. It is a ruse. It has nothing to do with the origin of our species. Now, Creationism is a different topic altogether, and, from what I've been taught, is the origin of our species.

smart layout isn't an thought in any respect. It does not positioned forth a device of thought to regulate the customary information, it purely assaults (oftentimes particularly properly) the holes in Evolutionary concept. yet evolution is a scientific fact. Evolutionary concept is a shape to aim to describe *how* what's customary approximately evolution got here approximately. whilst human beings say "that's purely an thought", they show their lack of expertise concerning the version between concept and hypothesis.
