We can do a lot, but with all the apathy and lack of cooperation, it is a losing cause.

Isn't it possible that global warming is natural?
They say that the earth was a lot hotter during the days of the dinosaurs than it is today. And then the earth started to cool down and the dinosaurs died off.
Now they say that the earth is getting hotter again. Eventually another ice age will occur once the earth gets hot enough.
So what if we were to try to set up measures to stop global warming. We might end up making it worse.
What if we end up reversing the process and cause an Ice Age. One which would not be natural thus the earth may have a harder time recovering from.

We need to identify what is causing the global warming. If it is a natural cycle there may not be much we can do. If we focus on only one man made cause, we could be missing the real culprit. If we don't understand weather patterns and we don't fully understand the CO2 cycle, I don't see how we can definitively identify CO2 as the only relevant cause. I'm reminded of the freon-12 debacle. It turns out that SF6 is 1000 times more potent than the freon. I used to work next to an 80,000 pound tank of SF6 and there were no environmental controls on it.

I think we need to take a well rounded approach and stop producing hydrocarbons on all sides. This means we need to use all technologies, to produce energy that is clean,ie nuclear,wind,hydrogen...etc. I think that if all cars would use hydrogen, the emissions of water would start to reverse the warming effect of what we have done to date. In conjunction we need to plant trees, everywhere and anywhere they will grow, trees live to make pure clean oxygen and live for centuries. It takes ten trees for every person to make the oxygen we need. Most of the numbers that are coming out from weather studies show we only have approx. 25 years to start the turn around of the weather systems or things could get ugly.

We can learn to follow good examples like Iceland, Norway and Sweden who are all environmentally friendly. Legislation could be passsed placing limits on factories regarding the amount of air, land and water that they can pollute. Each individual can also play his/her role by doing simple things such as taking the bus once or twice a week instead of driving their cars.We can also stop throwing trashes everywhere.

There are a whole lot of things we can do, I think I can list some of them:
(1)Forget every thing about war
(2)Try our best to substitute focilois with something safer
(3)Plant trees
(4)try to live more naturally
(5)prevent unnessary cuting of trees
(6)never ever use or test an atom or nuclear bomb anywrere on the planet

we are in a cycle the temp goes up and down, every time it goes up and down there are mass extinctions, and the dominant species are all killed off. these mass die offs mark the geological eras. But we will be alright because we are humans and special, and God made the world for us and put us in the center of the universe which he also made for us, la la lala la la la lala laaaaaa
It's ok chicken man, we have had enviro up over our heads with Al Gore and now Bono as special guests here, so some of us are going a bit wierd on enviro questions.

What do you mean by 'too late'?
The earth has no one 'best' temperature to be at. Life has existed inside a range of temperatures in the past - including temperatures where tropical ferns grew at the poles

I know that it will take 100 years for the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere now to dissapate and since we are not about to stop producing it then I believe it is already too late
