I have some digital artworks I made from my computer that I want to send to various companies and hopefully they will recognize my talent and consider me for hiring. I had these drawings for a few years and have been wanting to show them to the public. Family, friends, and strangers and told me I was quite good and that it doesn't look like I drew it using my mouse but I copied it off of websites. I don't just want to store them in my computer forever. Any advice?

I did not "copy or altered material from websites".

Build a website. Talk about who you are, why you do what you do, what medium you work in, etc. Send out the link via email to prospective clients that might be interested in your work. You can make a simple email campaign at http://www.constantcontact.com
Check out the Artist's Market to investigate your market.

Hi- I have never seen your art but I'm guessing its crap. Your family and friends probaly dont have good taste in art and are trying to be nice. If it is actually good which is a 1 in a hundred chance there are about 10 million other people that have great digital art. There's not really much of a use for it and companies dont buy digital art so your wasting your time and making a fool out of yourself if you waste your time trying to waste other peoples time. If you want to be a graphic designer like 10 million other people go to college and excell above your class and be in the top 20 and then maybe you can sell your digital art to companies. If you really were a good artist you'd be discovered by now. I work at a gallery and get at least 10 e-mails a day from from clueless nitwits thinking they are qualified to submit art. How pathetic and irritating. Once in awhile I find a great artist and Its never when they contact me. I find them so thats your guide. Dont mean to sound negative so just dont quit your job at 7-11 yet and dont call me I'll call you.

Well, I dont know it is legal since you copied and altered material from websites. However, to get your art out there, I would suggest going to local galleries. See if they will display your art or consign it. Also check with them about local upcoming art festivals. Definitely go to art festivals. Talk to other artist there. They can give you a lot of information on getting you art out there in your own community.
BTW, art does not seem to sell well on Ebay.

Well if you're going to weed through the old ones, save them in a folder or box because it would make great wrapping paper for grandma's birthday or auntie's graduation.. (whatever the event) What I do with the miles of artwork my kids bring home.. well I save a few of my favorites for my desk, and the most recent are hung on the refrigerator. Special things I want to save are retired to their keepsake boxes, and others are sent to relatives who live a distance. I use the colorful ones for wrapping paper for relatives. I sometimes buy a large, inexpensive frame with a plastic front and let them create a collage of their artwork on the cardboard from the back, and it is hung on a wall or given as a gift. You have a lot more artwork coming, so make room!! Good luck to you momma.

I know three great sites where you can show off your artwork!
http://www.fanart-central.net/
http://www.deviantart.com/
http://www.sheezyart.com/
In all three of them, people can comment on your pictures, add them to their favorite list, add you to their favorite artist list, and a whole lot more! It's a lot of fun.
If you're trying to get into the business of it, you could also go to your local college or art institute, and show the teachers your art.
Hope that helps!

try building your own website, you can build one for free. since you want to show off your works, which will eat up a lot of space, i suggest you try www.gigahive.com
they offer free service with 1gb as a space allowance for your website. there, you can showcase all of your artworks in a gallery maybe. be sure to add your personal info, or even your e-resume. ^ ^
dont worry if you know nothing about HTML or CSS and scripting, they offer pre-made templates that you could use. ^ ^
once you had set up your website, you can place your website address in your email as a signature. or ask some of your friends who have websites to provide links to your site.

Get arrested for something salacious. Have your public relations person issue a press release identifying you as 'avant guard artist john doe'.
