NASCAR is very inconsistant in the way they are governing the races. There are certain drivers that are fan favorites that draw crowds thus money,so NASCAR will do what it has to to keep these drivers in the field. The top 35 is a crock of crap. The fastest 42 cars should start the race, then this leaves 1 spot for the ''promoters choice" to make the43rd spot. Then for true consistancy NASCAR should put a couple of dirt tracks on the circut, this is why I follow ARCA circit. The first race that was a NASCAR race that I was at, was Aug,1960 at Dixie speedway in Midfield Alabama(this was a 1/4 mile asphalt) the winner-Ned Jarrett.
NASCAR will cheat the everyday fan of a good race to make sure the " whinners" will be in the field.
Then comes to the "cheating" that is so rampart. If a team gets caught ,as in Harvicks busch team as example, the punishment should be the car is impounded byNASCAR,the the crew cheif and driver are suspended from that event, and the full team suspended from the next race.

Have you seen the car of 2007? You will see a completely different Nascar race. Just wait. And they are going to start handing out harsher penalties. Not just a little fine or a suspension for a crew chief. Now they are talking about suspending the driver or the entire team for a race or even more. Look at Harvick's Busch team. The crew chief is gone for 6 weeks and was ejected from the track at Daytona.

I think they need to make wider tracks with more right turns and with 2 mile long straight aways, cut the field in half, then take off the damn restrictor plates! And also just paint the cars one solid color so it's easier to tell who the heck is who! Raise the Pit Lane speed to at least 100! And change it so caution laps DO NOT count towards the race!! And no race ends under caution!!! I'll probably think of a couple more! If I do I'll edit this! Oh yeah! Go Gordon!!!

Award points for winning the pole.
Do away with this top 35 cars automatically in the race-everyone qualifies every race. If you miss, tough.
No restrictor plates. Use V-6 at Talladega, Daytona.

Two things on top of my list. Shorten the rear spoiler. This will reduce corner speeds and the cars will spend more time under braking and not be so sensitive when another car gets close. Get rid of those rotten restrictor plates! Hate 'em.

NASCAR should regulate the spec for the racecar and leave the drivers to settle things amongst themselves, like men. prima donas need to get knocked down a peg or two once in a while.

Get rid of those cars and put up open-wheelers, plus make them race on road courses.
