if the back of your feet slip out maybe they are a little too big on you. try getting these cushion pads that you can get at duane reade, cvs, rite aid- any of those stores, it should be in the footcare aisle, you can put one in the back of the shoe and one on the bottom. this will prevent the foot from slipping (unless the shoe is way toobig).
Now that your foot slipping prob should be solved you can go on to really enjoying your shoes....: bend you knees a little (while practicing at home), it will help you to stay balanced. but outside dont bend too much- some people can spot someone who doesnt know how to wear heels a mile away...lol practice in your house at least once a day...wear the shoes around, to go to the bathroom, to the kitchen, anything. soon enough you will be used to them!
btw- if you arent used to wearing heels u may want to work your way up- start with 2" then 3",then 3 1/4" and so on.....

You mean you're wearing pumps and your heels slip out? They must be too big for you.
I never had to learn to walk in high heels; they always felt comfortable to me. How well you can balance in them probably has something to do with the way your hips are hinged, and where your center of gravity is.
Practice walking in shorter, thicker heels and work your way up to stilettos. Don't wear them too often, though. They're bad for your feet.

Slowly at first. Practice at home. Before you know it you will be an expert and can run across a football field in them if need be. They become second nature. And don't think about them, the more you think and try to walk correctly, the more chance you have of going **** up and looking like a toss

Are you wearing pumps or slides? Dr Scholls makes some really good insoles for high heels. Also, here's the key: you walk in them like you're walking on tip toes. It works.
Like one gal here said: practice!

That's why I love wearing a large hoopskirt or long dresses from the Victorian period. I can where whatever shoes I want under them. Of course these are only costumes.

Wear them at home until you are comfortable walking in them. Maybe you need a different size.
