he's a great coach... he's style is to intall fears in his players whatever it takes and learn to fight it so that when gametime comes they won't get beaten up just because they were intimidated. i don't see it just to gain respect instead he's giving them a valuable lesson that can be applied on and off the court.

I don't think he is as big of a jerk as the media makes him. He is definitely passionate about basketball and is a great coach. And has been that way before the "rich spoiled brats of today's culture" so that doesn't even need to be part of the argument. I'm sure that Bobby Knight is a good man with a temper.

Bobby Knight is a bad guy with severe anger problems. It's good to demand the respect of "rich spoiled brats", but he goes completely out of line in his efforts to do so.
It's great to be tough and teach respect, but if you're acting complete disrespectful to do so, you are a hypocrite.

In my opinion he is a jerk. Even though he has proved that he is a successful basketball coach...it still does not give him the right to throw chairs and display the many disrespectful antics he has in public. This is a terrible role model for young athletes. I would not want a child of mine to be influence by him. My favorite saying is"When things are not going your way...use it to show how much class you have". Man does he need to get a grip on that!

I artwork for Texas Tech and we did employ him. For the most section, human beings the following in Lubbock love him. he's not proper, yet who's? His gamers love him and that tells me plenty. i'd be on the game this evening rooting for him to break the best-ever winningest (is that a word??) coach record!
