No citizens should be allowed to carry firearms under any circumstances. Nobody should have access to firearms ever. Hunting is an abomination, and the only point to firearms is to destroy things. Weapons serve no purpose but to kill, and they should all be destroyed.

That would be hard here in Belfast, nearly everyone has a criminal record. Sure, if you're Catholic you're apart of the IRA (Apparently!), so it would be all prod's carrying guns, and I'm sure they will insist just because they are Protestant and carrying a gun doesn't make them a part of the UDA or UVF!
Seriously though, I don't think anyone should be allowed to carry any weapon, because the majority of the time, it can just be used against you... Like the knife culture in Britian at the moment, most stabbings are due to people carrying the knifes carrying them for "protection", and they've been stabbed with their own weapon. Makes you think...

with no criminal reco, I think it should be like driving a car. It is a responsibility and if we are going to carry them we should know how to use and respect them. I also think adults should be taught how to teach their children about firearms.

Absolutely NO. Firearms KILL PEOPLE.
Why do Americans think arming people will protect them?
It just makes guns more easily available to people who would commit crime.
I am British, guns are NOT legal in public here.
If you have ever seen someone die from a gunshot wound you would not even conisder using these weapons!
This has nothing to do with self defence, if some one wants to shoot you then they will likely do it before you can shoot back and just think who is going to get caught in the cross fire?
Guns do not make a safe society.

they can carry firearms it just depends on how the state that your living in goes about with a permitt to carry in pa where i live you have to fill out a application at the sheriffs office and they do a backround check and tell you if you can get it of not

Not if they are visible. I think it's ok for people to have concealed firearms as long as you have the permit. I know in some states, it's not aloud, and for good reason. In my state, we are aloud to have them, we're just not aloud to wave them around.
I wouldn't walk up to someone if I knew they had a gun.

You want all those UNTRAINED people carrying around firearms? NOT ME!
I'm all for people carrying firearms, but only once they have the proper training.
