He takes the chicken over first, the fox will not eat the chicken feed, only the chicken. He comes back and gets the feed, brings it over to the chicken but picks up the chicken and brings it back to the fox, he then drops off the chicken and picks up the fox and brings the fox across to the feed, then he comes back and gets the chicken.

A total of 7 trips

First you take the fox and feed across... then go back and grab the chicken.

I remember this way back in elementary school... is there something you're missing... I don't remember it being that easy... Are you sure its not in a canoe that can hold 1.

In that case, grab the chicken across first. Then go back and get the feed and pick up the chicken on the way back. On the third trip take the fox across and lastly go back for the chicken.

Hello,
Well i would eat the chicken...
Have the fox swim for it...
Take the feed to the other side, and sell to a chicken farmer that is on that side of the creek...
As i no longer need it...
So 1 trip and i am no longer hungry...

i'd put the fox and the bag of feed in the canoe, then push it across and drop them on the other side. then hop in the canoe, and go back for the chicken.

farmer and the chicken get in the boat, chicken left on other side. farmer goes back and gets the fox. drops him off on the other side and picks up the chicken. drop of chicken on first side, grabs the feed. drops feed off on opposite side. goes back to first side. grabs chicken and goes to opposite side. all done. so um...four trips to the opposite side, 3 trips back.

umm put the chicken and the fox in the boat and set them off, you stay behind and then get another boat for two and tie it with the other one and navigate both boats to your final destination, its simple
