Certainly not.

When you consider the thousands of contractors and sub-contractors involved in the whole programme and the large amount of money spent ( although, interestingly enough, Apollo didn't apporoach 10% of the total expenditure of US military budget through the Vietnam episode ! ) do you honestly think the government would have been able to pull off such a fake ?
Opposing politicians looking to get into power, disgruntled employees, sceptical reporters looking to make a name for themselves - it would be all too easy to expose !!

Also, consider the wealth of information and film footage obtained from the Mercury & Gemini programmes plus the fact that we still have the shuttle and ISS programmes today.

Although incredible to believe, especially when you consider the craft used, Man certainly went to the moon - it would have been too much of a loss not to after all the advancements that had been made - the real debate is whether it was worthwhile or not ?

Incidentally, how old are you ? There's an interesting section in a book called Moondust where one of the twelve - I can't remember which one and I can't find the page at the moment either - is at a convention signing autographs and is largely overlooked except by a middle-aged couple who are really into the moon landings and chat to him for ages. The only other 'customers' he gets are two kids - one who asks him where a certain exhibit is and the other who asks for an autograph and then simply states that the landings were fake and walks away with his autograph.

It seems a pity that those who are ready to believe the moon landing conspiracy are those who are too young to have been there at the time and are too lazy to research their arguments properly

I think it is so unfair to think that risk takers like Armstrong Aldrin and Collins and all the other moon walkers and flyers faked it. The documentary had some inconsistencies regarding some pictures and shadows and graticule crosses on pictures. Perhaps the images may have been touched up to look more spectacular (sort of 70,s photoshopped).

Also I think telemetric data (radio messages) sent from the moon area were monitored all over the world from different countries, and maybe even amateurs could do it.

So a moon conspiracy is not really practical and a fake job just fantasy

I saw a question on a website from a person who proved the moon landing was a hoax.
He referred to the picture of an astronaut standing in front of a big rock on the moon. The rock was clear without a spec of dust on it, whereas on the moon surface, there was loose dirt marked by his shoes. His intelligent question was: THERE IS NO AIR BLOWING OR ATMOSPHERE ON THE MOON. WHY WAS THE ROCK HAVING NO DUST.
People have to study the question and answers of both sides and judge the facts, and not just guess who might be right. The reason why this question was raised after 40 years is: there was no internet at that time to ask questions and get answers.

The moon landings are real, people just get confused because they watch too much TV or movies and think that "Capricorn One" was reality.

The flag flutters because there is no atmosphere to dampen the oscillation caused by shaking it. Watch the video and you'll see that it is a pendulum motion, not a billowing motion. The astronauts are illuminated by the reflected moonlight. Even on earth people can see other people from moonlight, and those astronauts were right on top of it... of course they were lit up.

If you have more questions and need more answers go to Bad Astronomy or the Bad Astronomy / Universe Today board or Clavius and ask them.

You'd have to be an idiot to believe the Moon landings were fake, and you're not an idiot, are you?! Read the source below for a ton of information on why the Moon landings were REAL.

Fake moon landings would have come in just under budget. Did they? Ask the accountants.

IF they really did land on the moon, back in the 60's, why has no-one been back up there in 40 years? The technology is far more advanced, so IF they managed it then, now it should be a peice of cake. If they can't do it now, there is NO WAY they could have done it back then.

No!! Moon Landings are real ...hate to break it to you.....but you need to do your research and ask questions before you come up with complete false perceptions that are imply just not true, and there are no facts to support your " Opinion " although there is a fact that moon landings..have happened, will happen...and will never be in history deemed as " FAKE ".

Educate yourself more, to see for yourself.

I've wondered about that myself, but I've concluded that the U.S. government at that time simply wasn't evil or corrupt enough to invent such a bizarre tale.
Had the moon landing happened today, under the Bush administration's leadership, I would have no compunction at all in believing the moon landing was faked. I wouldn't trust the Bush administration to tell me the correct time and temperature. -RKO-

no its a good conspiracy theory but that is it.
1 flags blowing in wind, the only time flags moved was when astronaughts were trying to stick them in the surface.
2 no stars- the light reflecting off the lunar surface made it unable for cameras to pick up the comparably faint light of stars.
3 more than one light source- not true, the shadows appeared to fall at different angles because of the uneven lunar surface, this is the same on earth.
4 van-allen radiation belts- astronaughts flew through the thinnest parts of the radiation belts and were not there long enough to suffer any lasting harm. van allen himself stated that fatality would not occur until the astronaught had been in contact with this radiation for one month.
also scientists in jodrell bank followed the moon landings and radio transmissions, they were, where they were supposed to be.
