I assume you mean 420° - note that all trigonometric functions have a period of 360°, which means that you can add or subtract 360° without changing anything (conceptually, this is because going around the unit circle one full revolution leaves you exactly where you started). Thus, sin 420°=sin 60°, which is √3/2 exactly. If you don't know why this is, look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_right_triangles .

you must subtract first 420 with 360..
so this will be
420 - 360 = 60
and sin 60 is equal to
square root of 3 over 2

=sin(360+60)
=sin60
=(3^half)/2
=1.732/2
