Hemingway is good but stay away from sun also rises. you have to remember that it was written for a certain generation. try the more universal ones: "old man," or better yet my fave "for whom the bell tolls." a good war book.

Obviously, every author will appeal to different people. There's certainly nothing wrong with you if you don't "get" or enjoy Hemingway. In my opinion, he's written some fantastic stuff. Maybe THE SUN ALSO RISES isn't your cup of tea. Or maybe you are reading it for a school assignment. In my experience, books that are otherwise good are somehow a lot worse when you are forced to read them in school.
I'd also say that Hemingway will be more interesting to you depending on how much pain and fear you've had to encounter in life. His characters show different ways of confronting hard situations.
If you'd like something much different, I'd suggest reading a short story by Hemingway. I consider "The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber" to be about his best--and perhaps one of my favorite short stories. It's about pain, cowardice, courage, betrayal, depth and superficiality. All in about 30 pages of text. Check it out.

I loved the old man and the sea, but I left another novel by Hemingway after reading 10 chapters, I almost never do that, so I think some of his works must be boring. He was a very interesting person though.

I love Hemingway, but his books aren't for everyone. If you don't like "The Sun Also Rises," try something else. "The Old Man and the Sea" was good, and I especially liked "A Farewell to Arms."

Haha. I hate Hemingway. I had to read his work in school. He was dry, boring, and a poor writer based on my recollection.

You either love Hemingway or hate him. I've never met anyone who was middle of the road about him.
Guess you hate him! LOL!

Any "Classics" that were "popular" in ages gone by, were probably only popular because there was no real competition! I tried reading Moby Dick, and apart from the constant gay undertones it was totally boring. I think they only read it so they could tell each other how intellectual they are.
