If your Intel 2.4 is a Celeron, forget it. For modern gaming you need a Pentium 4 or an AMD Athlon 64 (preferably AMD).

i guess the game needs to be run from a CD... in that case, the speed limit of ur CD drive must be slowing u down, although ur specs say that u must be having a good drive... if u think this is the problem, then u can install the game from image on hDD and run it from there (PowerISO, NeroImage Drive). Also close all the other mem leeching apps... better close all the apps while u r playing the game.

Game Settings workaround:
Lower the display settings to 640x480
Other settings like high details of environment and the char should also be reduced
I guess there's a setting which allows to control the quality of horizon, decrease it.

This should surely run the game as u want it...

GTA SA has a couple of compatibility problems on old AMD athlons(K7) and P4)socket 478), as these CPUs do not have support for SSE3, which is an essential part of GTA SA, (read the readme), u're stuck i guess!
wel, ur only other option is 2 change the mb and processor to a compatible Athlon 64

Hi, ur specs seem more than enough to play gta san andreas bcos i played it smoothly on an amd sempron 512 mb ram ,geforce4mx,plenty of hard disk space, onboard sound, windows xp sp2.....check whether u have the latest driver installed for ur graphics card and enough space left on ur drive with gta installed...and also make sure u dont turn on all graphics settings, especially antialiasing...hope this helps
