Taxes help pay for the services rendered to the population by its government. Public buildings like hospitals and court houses. Schooling for children. Roads, police, firefighters.
Public parks. The military is paid by taxes.
They also subsidize public transport like buses and trains, at least in the city in which I live.
Taxes pay the salary for the president, congressmen, and other elected officials.
The poor and elderly often receive subsidies from the government, financed by taxes.
Saudi Arabians don't pay taxes because the country is very rich from the oil it produces and exports. The profits are used to fund the public servces.

MAN! You have to pay tax since all amenities like water, electricity, security are provided by the Govt.

Taxes is like rent, or club membership dues for usage of the countries services. Don't like it? Well then your free to leave anytime.

You pay taxes because you got schooled as a child ext. Aswell as being protected and being survaced (roads, transportation ext.)
