The TARDIS is out of phase with reality so the TARDIS is never actually anywhere yet everywhere at the same time. The exterior (Police Box) that you see is a portal to it that the physical brain can recognise and therefore use... Darn - I hate Temporal Physics !!!

To collect 'void-dust' you need to be biological in nature. The TARDIS is not.

Yes, that's what I thought. Because then The Doctor could blast yet another hole in space and time and the void and blaa blaa blaa, pick up rose and blast through it again!! Or make another one.
