Become more aware of your postural position. If you are seated with your head in a forward position, just be reminded; those muscles in your neck have to prevent that 15 lb. head from falling forward. To offset this feature (of postural stress), reverse the position every 20 minutes. Give those muscles a little break.

Try getting one of those cheap magnetic necklaces at the swap meet or flea market. I use a necklace from a health company and have had great results with the tight muscles around the nape of my neck. I've done muscle testing with them and they seem to work pretty well. What do you have to lose? They only cost 10 - 20 dollars. If you don't like the look of them and want to get a nice one go here.

Hi! You poor baby! I -literally!- feel your pain. And I wish I knew the answer to your question.... I plan to follow your answers "in case" someone knows ANYthing! One thing I do know.... In addition to being extremely painful... (previously, I thought not-much could ever touch the pain of migraine. Boy, was I wrong!) However, as I found myself in the Emergency Room -transported there by ambulance after losing consciousness) -(and the EMTs unable to find a PULSE...) I subsequently spent the next THREE WEEKS! in the hospital... the damned things are DANGEROUS! I had one that was large enough to block the neck of a kidney... causing uremic poisoning... and necessitating an emeregency shunt... followed by sonic bombardment in an attempt to fragment the damned thing -successfully, thank God. SIX WEEKS later, (and a HUGE!! bill....) ? Solutions = none. Remedies = none. Possible causes = none. (Your guess is as good a anyone's...) Chances of this happening AGAIN = Excellent. (X-rays show "grape clusters" in both kidneys...) I will watch your other answers with a great deal of "interest"... I wish you the very best of luck, and success. }:>

After discovering Yahoo answers, I also have ths computer generated pain. I am going to call the chiropractor. He's perfect for this.
A good theraputic massage would also work.
