It's a bit spupid because she doesn't acctually die, she is just separated from the doctor forever. Maybe she dies inside her mind because she has lost him.

Maybe because she got registered dead on our world. OR that she has died inside her heart as she will never see her one true love again. *sobs* )=

As Rose went to another world she was listed as dead in her other parallel world.
Rose says at the beginning of 'Doomsday', she first met the Doctor when she was 19 (Billie Piper will be 24 in September 2006.)
The Doctor took Rose on the greatest adventure in her life. When she was taken to a parallel world Rose's life with the Doctor ended, and it will never be the same again.

As has been explained above In the universe Rose originated from she was officially listed as dead.

As an aside wouldn't it have been nice if after the Doctor's farewell message to Rose a Tardis materialised in Rose's new universe and out stepped Christopher Eccleston. After all we know that there is a Doctor in Rose's new universe because they both have Torchwood institutes.

Listen carefully. The Doctor tells her that on our Earth she is listed as "missing presumed killed" therefore although she is alive and well on the alternative earth, there is no way she can go back to our Earth and say "Hello, I'm not dead".

A modern day case in point is the case of Lord Lucan (who disappeared 32 years ago, but has been classed as dead since 1981).

She went to live in a parallel universe and on the universe where she actually came from, she was officially dead after being on the missing list.

(Dr. Who will be back at Christmas and Catherine Tate isn't the new companion.)

The Doctor explained it at the end of the last episode on the beach. He said Rose was listed as missing in her old world and presumed dead. So she's dead in her old world.

The Doctor said at the end in his projection from the TARDIS that she was recorded as dead in her own world as she was missing. So she did die, but only in her universe, not the one she lives in now. How sad was that? It made me cry.
