I've seen a lot of people, men and woman in thier 60's dressing as though they think they're still in thier 20's. It does look rather odd to say the least, but if they're happy i say let them get on with it,live and let live.

properly, there's a superb line between "transforming into previous gracefully" and "making an fool of your self". as an celebration, a 50 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous with a weight problem isn't fooling absolutely everyone by employing wearing low-rider denims. so a procedures as appearing like a youthful individual -- how do you propose, precisely? ingesting all evening? distinct sexual companions? gazing MTV? finding out to purchase clothing contained in the youngster branch extremely of the lady's branch? With higher interest to wellness and exercising themes, maximum 40 and 50 three hundred and sixty 5 days olds sense large, so why no longer be able to earnings from the benefits of all that healthful living? i do not ignore that, at 50, i trust extra perfect now than I did at 30, with small children and artwork demands sucking potential out of me left and acceptable :-) and albeit, i'd not be 30 back for something -- that's large to be 50, with self-self belief and slightly extra information about the procedures of the international.

To dress like a younger hip person? What. Are you saying that I can't be hep (the word is actually Hep, it's even older than me, heh heh heh) at 50 or 60 years old? To be honest I don't see a lot of young people who dress that well anyway.
But I know what you mean. :o)
The rule of thumb to always go by is;
Never try to be something or someone you're not.
It doesn't matter what your age is, that rule appies to everyone!

Age depends on the number of years you have been alive.
Staying young or growing old depends ON THE STATE OF YOUR MIND.
You must always strike a balance between your age, state of mind and the state of your health.
So what you wear must gel well and positively with your age, state of health!!!

Around 1993 I read a research which says people dress for others - never because "I like it like this". So I guess people end up wearing what is the norm in their society unless they are really eccentric.

I agree with Rose and all others who say dress as you like! Do what makes you feel good, and still be proud of your age. If you are in doubt about what you are wearing, wondering if it will look good on you, ask someone close that you really trust. I wear some younger things, but mostly wear what my daughter considers "old lady" clothes, LOL! But I don't care either way. I wear what I want, what pleases ME. When I was young and able to wear beautiful things, I allowed someone's opinion to sway me into abandoning all my beautiful clothes for jeans and tee-shirts. I realize why she did that now and regret not keeping my things when I was still able to turn heads. But now I just don't care what other people think about my style or clothes, as long as I'm happy with myself! I like to wear things that flatter my body shape, however. I don’t wear things that makes me look pregnant or like I have three sets of boobs. One must use their own discretion, but when your body gets to a certain size, I think looser, flowing clothing is more attractive.

I know plenty of people you'd never guess to be over sixty. I also know some 30 year olds that look like posers in the clothes of their generation. Most people dress the way they want to dress, and if someone doesn't like it, they can look the other way.

It's sad to TRY and be something you're not,
BUT...
Who said when you are 60 you can't be hip?
AND...
Who said a younger person is hip?

Is it FAB or SAD for a younger person to try and act and dress like someone of the legal drinking age?

Hmmmmmmm.

For the nay-sayers do you mean that you never take a second admiring look at Dolly Parton or Cher or (I can't think of the rest of them). I think it makes a difference on what type of dressing you mean, and what type of hip-acting. There's alot of older women that look better than the teens and 20's.

who says that clothes or living in a certain way is age specific? Do what you want to do, and don't criticise either way. Also there is no grace in living a life you don't enjoy.

Personally I think that I will naturally become more quiet and reserved as I get older, but I'm not gonna change my ways on purpose to suit my age!! That's just nonsense!
