About 2 years ago, my right eye and left eye started to make cracking noises all the sudden while i was smoking marijuana and I thought "wow , i didnt know eyes could make this noise." Later on that day, I looked in the mirror and noticed my right eye got lifted upward and got bigger than my left eye.And my left eye looked like it kinda got pulled down and smaller.Im not really sure what happened but i feel very imbalanced and out of touch with myself. My life is totally gone.I cant act or feel like myself anymore , i dunno why.Since then Ive seen 4 opthamologists, 1 neuro-opthamologist with 2 mri's done, and all the doctors said they cant find anything wrong.Ive also quit marijuana 1 year ago, and noticed some improvement but i can still make my eyes crack if i tilt my head or turn my head.I have a feeling this happened because I was smoking marijuana and thinking very very hard about something and i remember it very clearly. This has really destroyed my life and nobody is able to help.

Cracking noises from your eye are usually from air getting into your eye socket - I can't remember the name but there is one for it. This is most commen with what is called a "blow out fracture" that results from some blunt trauma to the periorbital region. It often causes a fracture in the orbital floor which causes the eye to "sink" into the maxillary sinus. This could cause the eye to look pulled down. An MRI should reveal a fracture in the maxillary bone...
There has to be reason so keep searching and good luck! Keep us updated on any news!

Hi, I'm referring your post to my friend, who graduated with the top marks in North America (often he'd know more than his professors) and hopefully he can get back to you.

My guess is that it has either to do with a tumor or the noises are from friction between connective tissues, but why the negative mris? Very low chance of Pagets' disease, how old are you?

P.S. there is no prohibition against marijuana in the bible, nor is there anything about alcohol either, so that other poster is just being abusive. Some religions incorporate these substances too. Also, it has been proven to be medicinally useful (just in case she doesn't know, not that this is a rebuttal per se).

One more idea: what was the lower boundary of the mri that was taken? I'm thinking that the muscles involved in the cracking are merely associated with when your eye muscles move, as you said the neck movements also cause the cracking.

For instance, if you have a keratocyst (try getting extensive dental x-rays) or other type of cyst/tumor this could cause your symptoms.

Don't focus on the eyes, other parts of your head and neck need to be examined.

Well whenever you smoke marijuana...Thinking very hard on something is not uncommon.
Usually you have to think very hard and then just give up.
As to your eye problem I cannot imagine how horrible it must be but maybe you have opened a air pocket in your eye socket that is displacing the air and making the cracking noise(kind of like cracking your knuckle). try not to do it (what ever makes the noise).
I had an ankle that has like double jointed and made noise and I no longer did that for a long time and it kinda went away.
i would not blame the Marijuana for the cracking noise but would blame it on not being able to have clear thoughts.
Good luck
