Why do so many women feel as though their highest purpose in life is to breed?
Aren't there already enough kids interupting otherwise peaceful dinners at restaurants worldwide...?

Some of what you say is true. Some woman feel the maternal urge more than others. I think kids are great, but I am content with just buying presents for my friends' kids. It is not my only aim in life to be a mother. It might happen someday, but I have other goals. I know what you mean though. I get those looks from people who find out I don't have kids when they see me interact with theirs ("You don't have kids. Look how great you are with them. You'd better hurry up. Your clock is ticking. Being a mom is the best thing that ever happened to me..."). It can be annoying sometimes. LOL

Moms get caught up in their kids because it's a huge responsibility and it's rewarding to them. Children are technically essential otherwise the human race would dwindle away. If suddenly no one ever gave birth from this moment on.
As for the peaceful dinners, it works both ways. Try taking the kiddies out to McDonald's, a restaurant designed for children, and there's adults cussing and recounting their sexual adventures.
There are women who are baby machines! They seem to keep churning them out constantly! These women are frightening! And lots of men are just as bad if not worse!
It's just that motherhood is very demanding, and it consumes an otherwise intelligent woman. It doesn't sound like you have kids, and I don't recommend it for you at all. Being a parent means that you don't get to have a peaceful meal ever again!

Please don't put down women for wanting to have children. First of all not all women who have or want children believe it is their "highest purpose in life". We are smart, active, fun people. We are not all baby crazed phsycos. There is a biological desired happening here, but believe it or not some of us actually like kids. They are fun, beautiful, intelligent beings. And believe it or not they grow to be adults... just like you, which means that you were once interrupting peaceful dinners. If people (I say people because it takes a man too, lots of men want babies just like women) didn't have the desire to have babies then you would not exist. If you don't want children then that is fine, its your choice, but there is really no need to make fun of women who do. You don't see a bunch of mothers on here making fun of women who choose to be single or follow a serious career path. People want different lives.

NEVER , NEVER, NEVER have a baby if you don't want children. I have seen too many children suffer because they were brought into this world and were resented by their mothers.
Not every woman is meant to be a mother.
Those who don't want children should never be pressured into having them. Not every woman is going to feel "Fulfilled' because she is pregnant. Lots of women know they would not make good mothers.
There is no excuse for getting pregnant in this country today, with all the available birth control methods available to women.
The only reason to bring a baby into this world is if you will love it and want it and will care for it responsibly.
Never have a baby to feel like a woman, to "have someone that will love you" in your life. Because you were pressured by a boyfriend, or family member, or because it's what's expected of you once you are married.
Those are all wrong reasons for getting pregnant.
There are too many unwanted children in this world already, don't add to this sad situation.
I had my children because I wanted them and I think its OK, for those women that don't want children, not to have them.

there is nothing wrong with women wanting to have children. If you don't want them that's fine don't have them, but don't rip on women who want children and have children and find it an amazing way of life. If you want that peaceful of a dinner...stay at home.

simple genetic drive to continue the species. Its so ingrained it can take women by surprise at how strong the need is. Some can do without it, some HAVE to have a baby. Different for every woman.

Well.. Having no children is not good because it may feel that you are "incomplete." I have many experiences where childless women are very envious to the ones who have..
Sex is created to bear children, but not always.. Abuse is always bad and abuse of sex as a means of pleasure is bad....

Although some do a lot of women dont plan it out. Its biological, from a part of the brain they have no control over.

It's called procreation. The only way for our species to survive is if we have children.
And for those of you who say being a mother consumes you and takes the intelligence out of a woman, you must have a very low opinion of your own Mother. If it wouldn't be for her, you wouldn't be here!!!

It may not be for everyone (I am guessing you are one) but it is how we can live on, when we die a little bit of us remains, with our kids and our grand-kids. And as for interrupting you dinner well you were once a kid too.
