Don't you think that if another country landed a person on the Moon first that it would have been all over the news? Why would that country want to keep it a secret? They would want to brag about it to the whole world.

It was the U.S. They did so in July 4, 1969. Neil Armstrong and Edward Aldrin, AKA Buzz Aldrin, stepped on the moon and Neil ARmstrong said the famous line "That's one small step for man and one giant leap for man kind".
