Sumerian Alphabet was the first. The Phoenician is the next oldest, and then ancient Hebrew and Greek (both of which are bases loosely on the Phoenician. The egyptian writing system isn't an alphabetic writing system, it is a hieriglyphic writing system (much like ancient Chinese started out)

The first real alphabet was an Egyptian adaptation of hieroglyphics (see the link below).

Cuneiform was around in Mesopotamia. Sanskrit was too, I think (in India, though). The Chinese might have had their oracle bones by then.

my guess would be sumarian. not sure though.
