I worked as an eldercare companion and am looking for another position. I need fulltime housing but part-time work. I have disability income.

One of the sites I've uses is GoNannies.com. There are others like it that get people together. Do a search. For some reason most of them focus on nanny positions but they all usually have some companions positions advertised. The potential employers pay a fee, the people looking for work usually don't. It varies. I haven't been on the site in awhile, but I remember GoNannies because it had the least restrictions- they just let people post available jobs and post available workers and you just searched through them and contacted the person directly. As a result they had some scam artists get on. The others I used to get one were more restrictive but also cost more, the info. wasn't so easily shared. You might input nannies into your search then check which also post companion positions.

Check w/ your city hall to see if they have a program (they do in Ca for the elderly)
Try posting a classified in a local paper or online for your area.
Also try Communtiy Programs usually found in the front of the phone book.

Look up Social Services in your area. Or put an ad in the local paper.

There are alot of nursing agencies in the phone book.
Also you could talk to a hospital social worker who can give you good information and they know them well.
