Would they be as judgemental if I had my hands wrapped around their throat?

Judging is part of being human. We all have opinions on the actions, words, and very existence of other people. Being diplomatic and knowing when to keep your judgements to yourself are skills learned with time and practice - and a little honest introspection.

I don't hate people who are, shall we say overly judgemental. People who see the world through strongly filtered glasses and will not or cannot see any other color and don't see any need to keep it to themselves, nor any reason other people may not wear the same glasses. I do strongly dislike some of them. Primarily the ones who act on their judgements by being hurtful to others. For instance, it's one thing to think that gay people are going to hell - but you don't go around telling gay people that and just quietly pray for their souls. It's another to take that judgement and use it to hurt - and that can be with your vote as well as with your hands, words, or any other weapon.

People ought to be able to express themselves and how they feel. Having an unpopular opinion doesn't automatically make you judgemental in a negative way. It's when you demand the rest of the world live the way you live and think the way you do that problems occur. Judgement calls are made everyday - the mods here make one every time a thread is locked. You just do the best you can, be honest with yourself and others, and try to open your mind wide enough to see all sides.

Because they are unaware that they are not supposed to judge others. Education and social morality is deficient to most. Or simply the word apathy.

It's easy to cast doubt or blame upon another... So easy that some people find it enjoyable especially when it causes a problem for others. (They think it's funny)

Yeah, they would. You see, even as you choked the life out of them, they would still judge you, probably invoking whatever "God" they follow to smite you.
