Is it possible for this to work? Is this safe to do this or is some kind of virus? Would it be possible for someone to try this? I have no idea what will happen if i try it (I dont wanna break my computer.) :P

You can create a shutdown icon, but I guess I'd trust Jeff Levy's site (and his instructions on how to do so) more than the site you just gave. www.jefflevy.com (he's on the radio with a computer show here in Los Angeles . .

As for me, tho', I wouldn't create a shutdown icon, because I can shut down my PC very quickly with three keystrokes (the Windows key and then hit the letter U twice)

I can hit those three keys in about .2 seconds, so usually I can do that faster than finding my mouse and then navigating to the shutdown icon and then clicking it.

(You can logoff quickly also by just hitting the Windows key and then hit the L key twice)

Hi, you can try firefox browser.

it can block any annoying popup ads. it can prevent most of the virus in the webpage, as you know, most of the virus is spread through internet.

Download firefox for free:

Check out the free PowerDown utility. I have both Power-off and Reboot icons on my desktop for many years now:

it is safe. there is a program in the windows folder called shutdown, which is invoked by the shortcut.
basically it does the same thing as shut down from the start menu.
