because we didnt. It's been proven that there are 7 original *mothers* we all come from one of them. Adam and Eve were the parents of several children certainly, but then the flood came and pretty much wiped that line out. Down through the very earliest history there was breeding with other peoples too.

As for why there are various *colours* that my friend is all due to climate. Each tribe adapted to her/his sourroundings and so we have blacks where the sun is hotter to protect them, orientals have eyes that protect them from the harshness of their climates, and whites who live where there is less sunshine.

Not the best I can do but its concise.

This is one of the arguments against creationism. You can argue that Adam was white and Eve was black,so they had multi-colored children. Still, there is no escaping the fact that no two human beings could have originated the amazing diversity we see today. Could Adam have had blue, green, brown, hazel, and black eyes at the same time? Where did these characters come from? Obviously, it's all thanks to evolution, which lead to the emergene of new characteristics (and eventually whole speciecs) through genetic mutations which happen all the time inside everybody's cells. So, the answer to your question is No, Adam and Eve didn't even exist.

In the Old Testament, the people of Babel built a tower which stretched into heaven. So in order to stop them God scrambled their languages and so they could not understand each other, and could not finish the tower. The people were forced out into different lands (i.e different climates, temperatures and lanscapes) and so their colour was adapted so they could live there, so their skin protected them from the sun of kept in heat.
There is also nothing to state the colour of either Adam or Eve. Most reprecentations are highly dependant on the culture of the painter/artist.

Am not so sure we all came from a literal Adam and Eve but the reason people have different skin colors is because of where their ancestors lived.

Dark skin helps protect people from the bad effects of the sun - but we need sunlight to produce vitamin A in our bodies.

People nearer the poles, like in northern Europe, would get less sun than people near the equator. So the people in Europe who had lighter skin would get enough sunlight to make vitamin A and be more likely to survive there. The need for vitamin A would outweigh the need for sun protection for those folks.

The people nearer the equator would be more likely to survive with the protection of darker skin but would still get enough sunlight to make their vitamin A.

Now, most folks who can afford to communicate by computer live in places where the food is vitamin enriched and/or vitamin supplements are available. So really, for most of us, darker skin would be preferable, since it helps protect against the bad effects of the sun. Beyond that it is just aesthetics.

1. Well, Adam was looking for some extramarital affair and decided to breed with some ape, thus explaining the presence of human like ape fossils. Then he bred with some white beast and some black beast to produce white and black people. He was originally tan/light brown like me.

2. Maybe God hadn't invented heredity and evolution yet. And all men were of all colors. Then came the survival of the fittest and we are now down to just a few hues to choose from.

Adam and Eve is a creation myth

My opinion is that Adam & Eve are mythical names created by primitive man to try to explain what they didn't understand. There are also more colors to the human race than "black" & "white". Region & diet might have determined skin color way back at the dawn of man. Who knows. It could be determined by what type of animal we originally evolved from. Maybe it's just a fluke.

Adam was black and Eve was white. Some of their children were pure black, some pure white, and some just right, in between, brown or yellow.
