dear friends ,as i was browsing yahoo answers and viewing your questions and answers,i found you American seem to have a strong hatred towards China. it is the case that we are becoming richer ,stronger and have nuclear weapon and have communist party in power, but we have no intention, not to mention plan, of attacking any countries! on the contrary, we are learning english very hard, bringing in your way of thinking ,even lifestyles into China,we are trying to join the international community. Some historians say if the people from two countries believed there will be a war between the two countries, there will be !
the world is now in chaos ,politically ,economically, the human race can't even survive the next hundred years,as doctor stephen hawking asked. we need to work together to build a better global village! the earth is not your american's.every country has his right to choose different ways of developpment and to participate the global descion.contact me at roadqian@gmail.com

I live in China and am married to a Chinese woman from Changsha, Hunan, China. I even taught English at a Chinese Army University. Maybe you are still living in the Cultural Revolution Days.

Ask any big US conglomerate if they hate China and the answer is no way! China and the 7 or 8 billion people living there are a boon to the economy of the USA and any other country that wants to see their company expand and get a foot in the door in China. Goods made in China are cheaper than alot of stuff from other countries so what is to hate? War mongers talk and hope that wars happen so they can get rich on the companies that they invested in that make bombs, munitions and warplanes so don't listen to them. We all have to get along in this world and until we get invaded by aliens from Mars there will always be talk of war or hating others. GM hates Ford but they all make cars and some of the cars that Ford employees drive to work are GM and vice versa but that doesn't mean they hate one another. China is invited to the Olympics and some atheletes want to win in events against China but they don't hate China. Competition is what makes the economic system run and there is a thin line between love and hate in that system but it makes each participent try harder. It has taken China years to come around to thinking globally about other countries and this is a good thing. Hiding behind an iron curtain was a bad thing and now that most things are out in the open there is always hope.

There is so very very little chance that China and the US will ever wind up in a war. It is true, we here in the US abhor communism, and we do think that human rights in China have been severely repressed. The Tianenmen Square massacre was a horror. How could anyone look at that and say that the government there was not
wrong?
But why do I say that there is little chance of a war, though we did really fight one already in North Korea in the 50s.......
It is because we are SO dependent on each other. Your country needs our buying power to sell your goods, and ours needs yours to make them. Also , the three largest holders of US Treasury bills are China, Japan and Korea... the economic interdependency of China and the US created by trade on the one hand and debt on the other is so deep that a war would be not only a human disaster, but a global economic disaster unheard of in history.
And as you can see, we don't hate China. I hope to visit this amazing country some day. Do you hate us ?

I live in China but am an American and it is difficult to explain to America why China is growing, developing and the country of tomorrow. Maybe the Olympics will open many eyes. If that happens (China will win in Table Tennis and Women's volleyball for sure)...then we have taken a big step towards world peace between two large countries. I agree that each nation must decide their own future as China has done since 1978 in opening doors and making money. I love China, Chinese people and the way of life here but I agree few Americans really know China. Let's change it! Let's show what China really is. From Dalian to the beautiful beaches of HaiNan and the super modern city of ShangHai. Let's tell people that American products in the supermarket are the same ones they buy at home. Let's tell them about new Buicks driving the highways. Let's tell them that we have Gucci, Armani, Georgio and other fashions. I regret that America doesn't know these things....but we can tell them.

I do not know any Americans who hate China. I know that the Bush administration fears China........and most Americans fear the rise in power that China is experiencing.
The danger is this, as I see it - right now the US is controlled by neocons whose agenda is to make and keep America the global leader - and they are willing to take out anyone who threatens America's position. China is the one country, right now, that could challenge the US. I'm sure the neocons have a plan for that.
Whether the American people want that or not.....doesn't matter. They don't listen to the people. They just do what they want.
At least in China you KNOW that your government controls your life to some extent. In America - they only pretend not to...and it's scary to some of us.
Anyway...more power to you and your westernization. I hope you guys are more responsible than we have been. If China starts polluting the world as much as we have....then we will not survive the next hundred years.

I don't think Americans hate you.
We may not be sure that we can trust you but that is something that takes time and experience before it changes.
Now that most of the things American people buy have "Made In China" on them, people are wondering what is happening with our economic system when we are not making so many of the things we use and have to depend on China to make them for us.
That's not China's fault. American labor has become exceedingly expensive and this is what is happening. Soon we will drive ourselves out of the labor market and our whole system will collapse, and again that is not China's fault.
I think that America will welcome China into the International Community. Our universities teach Chinese, including Chinese culture. Remember, there are hundreds of thousands of Chinese people living in America, most are now second and third generation Americans.

China is a smart country, even though it is communist, it is heading in the right direction, unlike America which is on a downward spiral, and won't even do research on stem cell research like China does. Most Americans are stupid in a sense of the world, what they do not know is that America will not be one of the most powerful countries in the world soon. I want to leave America but I can't becaues of family.

i don't anyone hates china so much as we're a little intimidated by a communist country being so powerful. That said, the money corporations make from trade with china quells most of those fears.

I don't hate you chinese people, but just tell me one thing that why did you attacked our country (India) in 1962 without any provocation. Also you have captured our land. When will you return our land to us ? I don't think this answer will reach you because there are so many restrictions over what to see and what not on internet in China.
