I think the AP Poll made a joke out of it. LSU won the national title. USC couldn't have beat OU that year. The 2 best teams were on the field. If USC was to be there they wouldn't have lost. Also look at USC's schedule its a cake walk compared to a team in the SEC.

LSU won where it mattered, which is the OFFICAL BS(oh and some throw a C in the middle) Game. Nothing against LSU it is the system that didn't have the two playing in the Championship game on top of all the other things it has "accomplished." USC isn't/wasn't and will never be the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in 2003. They can claim to be Co-Champs, BUT they don't have the offical Title so it really don't matter if you ask me.

LSU won the BCS Championship while USC took the AP Poll #1. They were considered co-champs although many feel that LSU was the true champ because they defeated OU in the BCS Title game and that is viewed as the real championship.

The NCAA developed the BCS to determine its national champion. LSU won the BCS tiltle game. And don't forget, the AP poll was just one of a dozen criterea used to determine the top 2 BCS teams. So if USC deserves a share then so to does whatever team finished on top of the Sagarin ratings, the NY Times computer, The Seattle Post- Intellegancer computer, etc. It's LSU, deal with it.

The BCS become created to end chop up titles and characteristic ONE champion. LSU gained the BCS in 03 so as that they are the purely nationwide champ from that year. Even Pete Carroll voted for the equipment, yet he become the first to whine and declare a identify that doesnt count number. It truly pisses me off even as someone refers to LSU as "co-champions" from 2003....we gained the game that counted. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

USC was #1 all season. They were the national champs. Please, PLEASE someone convince the NCAA to put a playoff system in place so we don't have anymore of this goddamn BCS crap.
