My Dad was a cop, and we looked forward to sitting around the dinner table listening to the stories he'd been told throughout the day.

Just once. I was driving my new Lexus - a post-divorce present to myself - and doing about 80 on the interstate. Cop came up behind me and I decided to speed up to see if he could keep up. After about 110, I came to my senses and pulled over. The cop was sort of shaking his head at me as he came to the car. He actually begged me to give him a good excuse as he was about to end his shift and had a long weekend trip planned with his family.

I said, ok, sir, it is like this. My wife ran off with a police officer about a month ago .. when I saw you coming after me I thought you were trying to bring her back.

He shook my hand and wished me well.

no all i ever did was be honest , and you know maybe cops hear so much bs in a day that they can't even fathom in their mind that someone might be actually telling the truth . it's sad not to trust anything anymore once you become a cop

No...and both times I have been pulled over I tell the cops the truth and they let me go with a warning...honesty is the best policy...

'Cops write tickets to save lives.'

Wrap your brain around that...

and then give me a good excuse why you're putting yourself and others at risk when you speed, go through stop lights, drive recklessly, etc...

Be glad you got a ticket and not in a collision.
