It would have probably figured out replacements for those resources, or how to live without those resources. Remember that resources don't usually magically disappear; they become scarcer and scarcer until they are finally used up. As those resources become scarcer, they become more expensive. This creates a financial incentive to either replace these resources or figure out how to live without them, and as the financial incentive becomes greater, so does the chance of finding a replacement for that resource.

Other natural resources include the sun - its not going away anytime soon so chances are we will utalise the radiation of the sun at much more increased levels than we are doing now. Maybe what you should be asking about is what will we do when the fossil fuels run out!

We will, of course, ask the Aliens for foreign aid. But their assistance money will not ultimately be distributed fairly. Plus, dependent on their largesse, we will lose scientific curiousity and self-esteem, until ultimately we will all be found sitting in our tiny cement apartments watching the Alien TV Channel (they will have only one, filled with propaganda) eating our meager rations of soylent green.
Or maybe we will get off our butts and work out an economically feasible way to crack sea water into hydrogen and oxygen and have a water-based economy with 100% recycling.

We have to turn towards replenishable natural resources like hydroelectric, solar, wind, geothermal, tidal, and ocean thermal energy(OTE) etc.
we can also rely more upon nuclear fission energy provided we discover some non harmful methods of nuclear waste disposal.
If we are successful in carrying controlled nuclear fussion reactions we will be self sufficient in energy for another billion of years. So let us hope ......
