To me, a leader is someone who has a clear vision, and can effectively communicate it to others, inspiring them to unite thier efforts towards a comon goal.
In my mind, I picture a video I saw on television once, of a horse stuck in a deep hole. It could not get out, but one person got his neighbors together and organized them to extract it from the hole unscathed, using several lengths of rope and a pick up truck.
