The pump is in the tank. The filter is between the tank and the engine. look along the fuel line underneath the car.

As this is Australian answers I assume that you mean the 4 litre Falcon/Fairlane vehicles.

If that is the case the fuel pump is inside the tank and access is through a round plate in the boot. The fuel filter is under the front passenger floor.

What kind of vehicle is it? What model? I know on many Ford vehicles the fuel filter is under the vehicle along the frame, near the middle of the vehicle. The fuel pump should be near the gas tank, usually on top of it where it is most aggravating to get to. I know, I've replaced a few of them, and expanded my curse word vocabulary each time.

On a truck the fuel pump is in the gas tank. The filter is underneath the left side.On a car the filter is by the gas tank,the pump is in the gas tank.

more than likely the pump is in tank with a sock filter on it, and under the vehicle you will find a filter in the fuel line, an in-line filter looking like a canister, and you will possibly need special tools to remove the filter lines

Most likely around the fuel tank.
