how do you tell a baby male sulcata turtle from a female?

i just got 2 baby sulcata turtles and i cant tell them apart. Can anyone help me please???????

I an no expert, but I learned as much as I could about turtles and tortoises after I was given a desert tortoise. So what I know may or may not apply to your sulcata's.
My vet said you cannot tell the sex until they reach maturity which for my species was 7-10 years. At that time the males will develop a concave area on their carapace(bottom side of the shell.) It makes it possible for them to mount the female who's carapace stays flat.
And unless you know when they were born, it is impossible to tell the age of turtles and tortoises.

i have 4 african sulcatas their pretty big each one is about 30lbs. but the only way to tell is by either asking a vet which might cost money or just wayching them go to the bathroom sounds gross and it is but if it's a male you'll see his penis. but if you want to know to try and get them to breed you gotta wait along time at least 3-4 years if you have babies

I have a sulcata (they are tortoises, not turytles) and I was told at purchase that it was a male. I do not know how to tell. Why is it imperative that you need to know?

seem on the backside of the backside of the shell. If there's a small notch then it quite is a male. The notch is there to maintain the tail from being overwhelmed for the period of mating. I easily have 2 babies precise now: a million a Florida Cooter and a pair of a Map. the two are captivating!
