My best guess? We in reality? Are much like herd animals. We are not lone humans going through life isolated. We group together like penguins to live out our lives. When this happens? Other human's opinions begin to count. Take a look around you? In your job are you allowed to wear and look however you like? In your personal relationships can you say whatever comes to mind whenever it happens and still maintain those relationships in a positive way? In driving down the street can you do whatever you want?
I think that "no" would be the most appropriate response to those questions. Society and our cultures have a massive impact on what we think, eat, see, do, and are. Laws are regulated by opinion. Politics can be seen as a large group of likeminded individuals coming together to create change. Again? Its all opinion.
Opinion has a way of making or breaking things around you. Therefore what other people think does count. Unfortunate but true.

Because we are apart of a whole being and we need each other. If you are 18 yrs old asking, I understand. If you are much older, get over it. You know what you do, at least I hope!?

I haven't figured out who "they" is, but that's who has made the rules as to how we are supposed to look and act to please "them", and until I personally meet "they and/or them", and find that authority was given to them, and by whom, then...."they", "them", and "whom", can kiss my butt, there are just too many opinions in this world, and it's impossible to please them all, especially at the same time!
