Buy the original "Garage Days 9.99 ep." by Metallica. (I think it was 9.99, that was a long time ago. It was the first album to have Jason Newstead on it, and I think it was meant to be a filler in between "Master of Puppets" and "...And Justice for All". It has a lot of raw covers of songs from The Misfits, Diamondhead, and others. If all you can find is the "Re-Revisited" double CD, that one has the original on one CD and newer covers on the second one. It also is the only album that has the classic cover of Diamondhead's "Am I Evil?" on it, since for some reason they took it off of "Kill 'Em All".

The Beatles bass lines are awesome. Alot of Led Zeppelin bass lines are good too. Classic rock stuff. Generally Paul McCartney bass lines are amazing. Go for those.

Try this song "Mr. Big" performed by Free on Fire And Water album or you can listen Mr. Big version of the same song on Bump Ahead album. Also try "Someone" by Grand Funk Railroad, "Dazed And Confused" by Led Zeppelin, "The Joker" by Steve Miller Band, good luck...
