No, you don't. If everyone works on it, it's going to suck. Leave the songwriting to the people who can do it well and shut the hell up.

im syked. with rob on bass. they did say that they will put solos back in. kirk did. but i dont think many people completely understand what metallica has been about their whole career. that is that they've always done what they wanted to do. they dont let angry fans manipulate them. they've always experimented, whether the results were good or bad. i think on st anger you could totally feel the words. i could at least. but i agree the music was lacked alot. i think now with another member with a bit different tastes of music will do good with the band. i mean hey, cliff burton was influenced by classical music and you can totally hear that in alot of the songs from ride the lightning and master of puppets.

Well the buzz that i hear is that they are going EMO style. They are big fans of thrice, atryeu and also had VIP seating and meeting with Thrice. So that will be the end of the mighty band once called MetallicA.

Only if its good, heavy, and has the same feeling/aura that their earlier stuff had.
If its like St. Anger, then no. I'll probably be done with them if that turns out to be the case. Damn, it sounded like Lars was banging on a coffee can, and no guitar riffs/solos from Hammett? WTF???

I'm scared. They have let me down then brought me back. That last documentary killed me. They are some spoiled *** cry babies these days
