The new HP pocket computer Model IPAQ 6915 is now released. This comes SIM free and one can buy any SIM from any service provider. I want to use the IPAQ 6915 for internet access and I believe there are service providers such as O2 or Vodafone who offer unlimited access through their SIM cards. Has anyone out there got more details of a price plan which is not expensive. I am disabled and writing a book and need Internet access for reference purposes.

Presumably you will want to access the internet using the pocketpc's integrated GSM/GPRS/EDGE - unlimited data services tend to be expensive and you will have to agree to a minimum term contract. Pricing though competitive is very similar, and at the moment is geared primarily toward the business rather than the home user. Whichever service provider you choose, be sure to ask them to enable the APN (access point node) for internet/email access, as well as the APN for WAP when you sign up for a data package. As this pocket pc has WLAN, you may well be able to access the internet via public wifi hotspots for free.

As you say you are disabled you may find that contacting the networks themselves might help as some networks may actually provide extra services and/or discounts to disabled people.

Another idea might be for you to go into a mobile shop (try Carphone Warehouse) and ask there as they can focus on your needs.

Good luck and I'd be more than happy to help you if you need it.

:-)
