I asked ask-a-nurse this & was told to just see a Dr. I hadn't had sex in 3 months. I was a week away from starting my period. My boyfriend & I reconciled & had sex last Sat night. I had sharp pains in the lower left of my abdomin. When we were done, there was blood all over him, puddles, all over the bed, on me, everywhere. I started crying, it scared me so badly. After I got all cleaned up, I didn't bleed anymore, so it's not like I kick-started my period early or anything. I've went that long w/out sex before & not bled like that. So what could've caused that? Only serious answers, please. Thank you!

How long would it take for something like this (the things that could be wrong w/me that were mentioned) to happen? I just had my yearly pap test done a couple of months ago with nothing wrong with the results

1 - definately see a doctor.
2 - it COULD be endometriosys
3 - It COULD be a ruptured cyst on the ovary
4 - WHENEVER something like that happens PLEASE go see a doctor. This is your overall health at steak not something to be humiliated or ashamed about.

I don't know, but I REALLY think you should be asking a doctor this question, and not rely on Yahoo Answers! None of us can determine what a doctor can via a physical examination. You could have an ovarian cyst, an ovarian tumor, an ectopic pregnancy, a regular pregnancy/miscarriage, a fibroid, endometriosis, a veneral disease, or perhaps something else altogether.

Some of these things are obviously worse than others, but ALL require the help of a medical professional IN-PERSON. So please do go, and get yourself checked out. When it comes to health, there's no substitute for peace of mind! Good luck. :)

Profuse bleeding after sexual intercourse or during sex can be symptomatic of fibroid tumors or of cervical dysplasias. It is NOT normal and has nothing to do with your period or how long you go without having sex. You may need medical treatment to prevent a recurrence of the bleeding or to prevent the onset of early stage uterine cancer. Please see your gynecologist.
