Drive B is alotted to another Floppy drive. Either another 3.5" Floppy or, (from the old days) a 5.25" Floppy Drive.

Drive B used to be designated as another or second floppy drive in older computers. Since there is no more demand for floppy use, they only leave one floppy drive on, just in case you still use the old window 95/nt/98 that used floppy disk as emergency boot up and for re-installing your operating system. On new windows 2000 & XP, they did away with having to use floppies any more, and you can bootup from your CD disk that contained your operating system.

Drive B is reserved for a 2nd floppy. It's been that way since back in the good old dos days, back when 2 floppy drives were necessary.

That went away years ago when computers required two floppy drives, one for the OS and one for the application you were running.

B is reserved for another floppy. Please go to school and sharpen up on IT skills and don't ask that question again. Please
