Notice the "traditionally" in the question. :)

There isn't a green background in Hockey. Cricket, football, American football, and tennis are all played traditionally on grass, which is green; however, you don't play cards on the grass, nor do you play pool on the grass (present and past).

They are covered with felt so they balls or cards can move easily across the table. Supposedly, the green color felt is easiest on the eyes over long periods of time.

most of all games are played in green back ground, U see, cricket, foot ball, hockey, tennis, table tennis etc.
That s why , pool table also green.

I think for the same reason that all doctors use green blankets. On the long term it's easier to look at.

Btw, not all card tables are green.
