I think this question would be better in Religion and Spirituality...although calling"God" a myth isn't something I'm going to argue loudly against. It might also work better in Philosophy, since you're posing a question without a clear answer in mind of what answers you'll get??? Just a thought.

So here's my answer: There is an entire era of poets, writers, artists, and great thinkers who have suggested that since the idea of god-the-creator-of-all needs to have had a creator makes the entire theory impossibly....they were called the transcendentalists. The poet Blake wrote a beautiful poem where he offered the idea that if god created goodness then god created evil, too. Which makes god not above those sides, but part of them. In Milton's Paradise Lost the character of Lucifer is the most sympathetic character, with Adam, Eve, god and the son of god coming across as whiners and not all powerful, all amazing beings. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is about a man becoming god by becoming creator, and the creation turns...she's suggesting that if there is a creator then eventually the creations will surpass him.

Later great thinkers would completely reject the idea of god. Neitzsche said his famously misquoted line that god is dead and people assumed he was actually saying that god is dead, but what he meant was that the IDEA of god was no longer viable for humans. In a sense he was suggesting that we had UNcreated our so-called creator.

The Greeks loved to play with this idea about parathenogenis, which is a long and fancy word that means self-creation. If you're interested you could pick up Hesiod's Theogony. Or the Epic of Gilgamesh.

I've seen this question many times. I've thought of this question many time, too. You do have a point. If there is a God then something must have created him. Because you can't just "poof" out of nowhere, and have the power to create and such. But then something must have created his creator and so forth. So it doesn't seem like it would be possible to exist.

On the other hand, scientist have created the "Big Bang" theory on how the earth was create. Or Darwin and his Evolution from the apes. Something had to have created the apes. In fact if I am correct Darwin before he died took back his theory. So I have heard. Then the "Big Bang" theory. How was the rocks or planets created that formed the earth? Once again, for them to just "poof" from out of nowhere doesn't seem logical.

This is the life question, that seems that no living person can figure out with it all making sense. And having all tied ends.

In this reality the word god is just that, god is just part of this physical reality, which is just a game played by eternal energy beings/spirits. There are technologically more advanced and older races of physical beings/aliens whom genetically altered humans of old to become slaves of today. The taught the upgraded humans to worship them as GODS and are responsible for much of the B.S. most think is reality today. They are here still and operate behind the scenes, maintain control by pitting human against human, race against race, religion against religion etc... divide and conquer is the method used, keep the sheeple fighting against one another and they will never find out that it's only a small few controll the masses. If you ever watched the animation bugs life you can get the picture. If you need a god to give your power to that's your choice, but the real god for you is your true self, to get in touch with you you must first realize that you are you own God and go within in to make contact. The goal is to remember, especially since you agreed to play this game but had to agree to have memories blocked in order to do so. This game is an individual sport contrary to how the game keepers would have you believe. Oh by the way, think of the phyiscal universe and the creaters of it, like someone creating the XBOX and the software for use to play. It's really that simple just more comlex or sophisticated of course, the creater may be you who know's.

We are not humans in search of a spiritual experience but spirits immersed in a human experience.

St.Thomas Aquinas proposed five ways of knowing God exists. The second way is as follows:

Second Way: Causation Of Existence

This Way deals with the issue of existence. Aquinas concluded that common sense observation tells us that no object creates itself. In other words, some previous object had to create it. Aquinas believed that ultimately there must have been an UNCAUSED FIRST CAUSE (GOD) who began the chain of existence for all things. Follow the agrument this way:

1) There exists things that are caused (created) by other things.
2) Nothing can be the cause of itself (nothing can create itself.)
3) There can not be an endless string of objects causing other objects to exist.
4) Therefore, there must be an uncaused first cause called God.

No, you do not have a point.

One more time:

God is the First Cause. He is the Author of everything, including time. He exists outside of time and therefore is eternal. No one 'made' God, He simple IS.

God is the Supreme Being. He gave you free will. You can believe in Him, or not. The choice is yours. He will not force you to believe in Him and he will not give you 'proof' of His existence by allowing Himself to be analyzed in a test tube or measured with a yardstick.

God is not a man that he has to prove Himself to anyone.

This is for Renee, I do believe you are right, darling!

VERY good question, however, you can't get an answer, because, really... no one knows. Heck, God probably doesn't even know! (That is if there is a god). Books (the bibble or any other "holy" book) wont help you either. Just believe in what your heart says. It's the only one true answer you can get!
